Materials:
- Purchased cloth shower curtain liner
- All-purpose thread to match
- ½ yard of decorative vinyl
- Spool of ¼” red dot ribbon
- Spool of ½” black dot ribbon
- Spool of ½” black dot ribbon
- Washable fabric glue
- Eyelet punch
- Pins
Tools:
- Baby Lock Sewing Machine
- Baby Lock Teflon foot
Steps:
-
Cut five pockets 8” x 9” from the decorative vinyl. We used this cute lady bug vinyl.
-
Use the eyelet punch to create 3 small holes 1” from the corner. This will allow water that may collect in the pockets to drain.
-
Fold the shower curtain liner in half and mark the center with a few pins.
-
Measure down approximately 12” from the top of the curtain and position the pockets on the inside of the shower curtain liner in a checker board fashion.
-
Make sure to center the pockets with the center pinned line of the curtain. Note: Raise and lower the pockets to be in the best location for your shower.
-
-
Use the blue painter’s tape to keep the pockets in place until they are secure with stitching.
-
The painter’s tape is designed to not leave a residue and it can be removed after the stitching is complete.
-
-
Thread the machine with all-purpose thread and attach the Teflon foot.
-
Stitch the vinyl pockets to the curtain using a straight stitch.
-
Cover the lower edge of the pockets with red dot ribbon. Straight stitch or glue to secure it in place.
-
Cover the side edges of the pockets with black dot ribbon. Straight stitch or glue to secure it in place.
-
Hang your shower curtain and fill the pockets!
