Erica Bunker created a beautiful two-piece summer outfit with Simplicity 8891. She used a built-in decorative stitch on her Baby Lock Aventura II to add a polished look to both her jacket and shorts.

She selected a diamond looking decorative sittch and set the stitch width to 7.00 mm on her Baby Lock Aventura II.. Using the Edit/Stitch switching key and selecting the elongation key to make the pattern shorter and the single/repeat key to indicate that she wanted this to be a continuous stitch and not just a single pattern. She saved the stitch using the memory key (the pocket). This eliminated the need to go through adjusting the stitch each time she was going to use the stitch throughout the project.

She add the decorative stitching to both the jacket and shorts. She even used the decorative satin stitch to tack down the pleats in the front and back of her jacket.

Next she wanted to create a belt. She interfaced her Italian Canary and Moonstruck Double-Faced Stretch Cotton Twill fabric with weft fusible to give it body. To add notches in the belt she used the eyelet stitch on her machine.

Check out this quick tutorial to learn how she edge stitched the belt with her Baby Lock Aventura II).
